The National Park is carrying out 90 actions in areas ranging from nature restoration and protection to ecotourism, research, sensitization and local and sustainable socio-economic development.

Preserving and strengthening nature
The primary function of a national park is to safeguard a unique natural heritage, protect rare species and strengthen ecosystems. The National Park team and its partners are leading numerous actions to achieve these goals:
- integral forest reserves
- ecological network (planting hedges, creating ponds…)
- research on endangered bees
- roaming eco-grazing
- the formation of a roaming herd
- creation of nature reserves
- installation of stork nests
- dark infrastructure to combat light pollution

Welcoming, sharing and exchanging
Various actions aim to facilitate access to natural sites for all and enable intense experiences of reconnection with nature. Activities are offered to residents and visitors to exchange, understand and protect. With the goal of creating a friendly and welcoming territory:
- valorization of landscapes
- creation of welcome points
- user-friendly facilities
- information panels and signage
- themed guided walks
- film debates, exhibitions, open days…
- promotion of ecotourism and slow tourism
- training to become a guide
- publication of books and brochures
- ...

Inspiring a sustainable future
The National Park advocates for responsible economic activities and for projects that benefit the region and its residents. We are working towards a secure future by focusing on the benefits of nature and on respect for everyone. Together with public authorities and local stakeholders, actions and discussions are being carried out to:
- promote local stakeholders committed to nature
- protect residents' access to housing
- develop sustainable wool and meat production chains
- foster extensive livestock farming and agroecology
- offer more mobility solutions

The National Park Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse is implementing a master plan, the first phase of which began in 2023 and will end in 2026. The results are reported annually.
