Diversity of landscapes

Extraordinary diversity of landscapes and species

Covering an area of 22,000 hectares, the National Park Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse hosts an astonishing diversity of landscapes, habitats and species. Did you know that 86% of Wallonia’s fauna can be found here? This richness convinced the public authorities to select our project, which is supported by 80 regional partners committed to preserving this precious heritage.

Take a single walk and you will journey from the deep forests of the Ardennes to the humid bocage landscape of the Fagne, crossing the dry hills of the Calestienne.

Located in the south of the Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse region, along the French border, the National Park covers 22,000 hectares spread over five municipalities. Today, 80% of the territory is managed according to a charter drawn up by the National Park and its partners, ensuring a stronger and more beautiful nature. We work daily to expand and strengthen this territory.
