Unite and protect. And on a larger scale.

Experts around the world agree: ensuring that our planet remains habitable for us and millions of other species requires the large-scale preservation of natural spaces. That is what a national park does. And in our case, we do it cooperatively, within a strong and dynamic network of regional partners. A bit like an ecosystem!

Our vision

How does the National Park operate?

On a daily basis, a team of specialists is mobilised to carry out the 90 actions of the National Park. The team is supported and assisted by our partners, who gather to follow-up on and approve the project's policy directions. A Scientific Council provides its expertise.

Our flagship projects

Various core projects symbolise the commitment of the National Park and its partners to creating a lively, welcoming and inspiring territory. They reflect the collective dynamic of the National Park and showcase its natural wealth.

Integral forest reserve

1,800 hectares of forest regain their natural dynamics, enhancing biodiversity and climate resilience.

Return of pastoral grazing

A herd of sheep roams the hills of the Calestienne, accompanied by shepherds and dogs, to preserve precious calcareous grasslands.

Wild river valley

The river valley Eau Blanche has been renaturalised and re-meandered. This is better for biodiversity and reduces the risks resulting from floods.
