Who are the National Park’s landowners?

Most of the lands within the National Park belong to the municipalities. The National Park also welcomes private landowners such as farmers, forest landowners and individuals. Whether public or private, every landowner commits to giving more space to natural dynamics and biodiversity through a flexible and inclusive charter.

National Park’s enrollment charters

Enrollment in the National Park is a voluntary and inclusive initiative. With three levels of commitment – ‘first level of commitment’, ‘intermediate level of commitment’ and ‘strong commitment’ – the forest and agricultural charters enable many landowners to join the park’s territory and initiate a positive dynamic for greater naturalness and biodiversity, at their own pace and according to their means. The ‘land and nature’ charter has a single level of commitment and is intended for other types of private property.

How and why to become enrolled?

To be included in the core area (enrollment area: the ‘heart’ of the National Park), a property must be located within a defined perimeter. Each enrollment request is reviewed by our specialists, who ensure that the land is eligible. The landowners then sign an enrollment letter and commit to following a charter (forest, agricultural or ’land and nature’). Under certain conditions, landowners benefit from advice and advantages such as financial and technical support to make their land more beneficial to biodiversity (digging ponds, planting orchards, hedges, agroecological management measures...).
