Turn your private land into a (slightly wilder) piece of wilderness in the green heart of the National Park. A clear added value for your guesthouse, touristic exploitation, business... and for biodiversity.
Why a charter for individuals?
Nature knows no boundaries. It thrives wherever space is given. It therefore made sense to draw up a specific charter to encourage – but also to celebrate – citizens who offer a piece of land to the spontaneity and diversity of life. Every meadow or garden can help strengthen an essential ecological network. If you own a (semi-)natural area, even a small one, you can easily and flexibly include it into the National Park thanks to the ‘land and nature’ charter. And why not use it as a selling point for your guesthouse or tourist accommodation?
Key principles:
For private lands (excluding agricultural and forest lands), the ‘land and nature’ charter is based on a few basic principles:
- preserving existing (semi-)natural habitats
- embracing the spontaneity and diversity of life
- zero synthetic pesticides
- favouring indigenous plants

- restoration of certain (semi-)open heritage-related habitats (flower meadows...)
- use of the brand ‘National Park Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse’ for promotional purposes (e.g. for guesthouses and tourist welcome points)
